Security Oficer

About the role

As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime. You will monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property while embodying our core values and supporting strategic quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, including incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, emergency codes, and requests for opening doors.
• Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to needed locations.
• Report unsafe acts or conditions and investigate security breaches.
• Conduct investigations and write incident reports, ensuring all activities are logged and reports are clear, concise, legible, and submitted in a timely manner.
• Use appropriate emergency and radio codes when dispatching security officers, ensuring accurate location dispatch within the hospital campus.
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including radios and hospital codes.
• Report HIPAA breaches if witnessed.
• Keep the organization’s mission, vision, and values at the forefront of all decision-making and actions.
• Build trust and confidence through respectful and credible interactions that reflect positively on personal integrity and the organization’s mission.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Six (6) months experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, law enforcement, or military service or one (1) year experience as a Security Officer.
• California Driver’s License.
• CAAHA Basic Life Support - CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Pay

$25.00 - $27.68 per hour.
