Responsibilities

• Cover posts (e.g., customer counter, employee and vehicle entrances, guard houses, gates, construction gates, parking lot, perimeter)
• Screen employees (in/out) and personal baggage at pedestrian and vehicle entrances
• Verify seal controls on vehicles at gateway (cut and apply seals)
• Verify identity badges of personnel for clearance and screen vehicles
• Manage temporary badge process
• Conduct roving patrols, on foot or in vehicle, around perimeter fences, gates, buildings, warehouses, storage areas, switchyards, etc.
• Identify fire hazards, unauthorized activity, malfunctioning utilities, and hazardous conditions
• Monitor CCTV and operate X-ray machines
• Perform additional duties related to security of premises as required
• Perform emergency duties requiring physical exertion, such as standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., and running

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Virginia DCJS unarmed license
• Reliable transportation
• Physically capable of performing assigned work
• Able to meet all applicable licensing, registration, and certification requirements in the state of assignment
• Communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
