About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sterling, VA, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and alarm response. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, maintaining accurate documentation and escalating concerns as directed.
  • Support a professional environment at a technology and communications location by communicating clearly with site personnel, guests, and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
