About the role
As an unarmed patrol officer at a technology-focused location in Gloucester, MA, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate clearly, support security-related operations, and contribute to a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, exterior perimeter, parking areas, access points, and other designated locations to help identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
- Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff information in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Experience working at a primarily driving post is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
