Security Officer Swing shift

About the role

Timber Ridge at Talus is a senior living community in Issaquah, Washington, nestled at the base of Cougar Mountain. The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, staff, and property.

Responsibilities

• Make scheduled rounds inside and outside the building to maintain security.
• Respond to fire alarms, apartment emergency calls, and door checks.
• Develop and maintain rapport with residents, families, visitors, and personnel to ensure security procedures meet facility needs.
• Assist with special security needs as they arise involving employees, visitors, and community members.
• Provide written reports of any community incident during the shift for the Director of Plant Operations and administrative staff.
• Deliver packages, newspapers, and essential items to residents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent in training, education, and experience.
• Minimum one year of security experience preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Familiarity with MS Office products.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.

Skills

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of walking long distances and standing, walking, or stooping for approximately 80% of the shift.
• Handle physical tasks consistently.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies beyond normal business times.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).

Pay

$25‑$28 per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time swing shift, Monday‑Friday 3:00 pm‑11:30 pm; may be asked to fill other shifts as needed.
