SECURITY OFFICER - SURGERY CENTER SOUTH - PART TIME

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Checks doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked; notes in written log any unlocked doors/windows; submits information to Director.
• Observes activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce LSDC rules/regulations; alerts visitors of infractions.
• Ensures only authorized parking in company lot.
• Affords assistance to visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Maintains security of premises, including the movement of stock in and out of the building.
• Responds to alarms and calls during their schedule shift; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations; decides when incident requires written report; decides which report form to use and submits written report to Director of HR & Credentialing.
• Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehends or evicts violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• May assist law enforcement officers with crowd control and surveillance at during times of disturbance.
• Assists in fire, safety, and disasters drills as directed.
• Monitors and reports fire hazards and unsafe conditions to the proper authorities.
