Security Officer Shopping Center

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Elmont, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls. You will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. This role involves routine patrols, professional communication with visitors and staff, and exceptional customer service while reporting concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with site leadership, Allied Universal management, and applicable stakeholders.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
