About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a shopping center in Okemos, MI, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service. You will observe and report activity, communicate clearly with clients and visitors, and respond to concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures; report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
• Document incidents, patrol observations, and security-related concerns accurately; communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Comply with licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
