Security Officer (Shift: 5:30 PM - 2:00 AM)

About the role

Loews Vanderbilt Hotel seeks a vigilant and proactive Security Officer to ensure a secure and peaceful environment for guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain secure access to team member entrances
• Execute regular patrols to identify and address safety hazards
• Respond effectively to emergencies according to established procedures
• Inspect packages for unauthorized items and maintain facility integrity
• Document security incidents and actions taken
• Enforce hotel policies and foster a culture of safety
• Interact professionally with guests, addressing concerns and enhancing their experience
• Monitor CCTV systems and assist in maintaining a secure environment
• Facilitate communication with management on safety-related issues
• Manage lost and found items efficiently
• Collaborate with team members on health and safety training initiatives

Requirements

• Previous experience in hotel security or a related field (1-3 years preferred)
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Ability to operate departmental vehicles, including electric transport vehicles
• Basic first-aid certification or ability to administer first aid
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field preferred
• Knowledge of security systems, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols
• Experience using CCTV systems and other security technology
• Experience in customer service or hospitality
• Background in law enforcement or military service
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation for incidents and safety issues
• Additional certifications in security training, conflict resolution, or emergency response
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
