As a Security Officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues requiring an enhanced presence, and personal protective services. You will be trained in enhanced security procedures and exposed to cutting-edge technology. This role involves securing some of our most vital assets where specially trained and equipped security forces are needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unauthorized entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates gates and examines vehicle contents; monitors remote entrances using closed circuit television; and operates remote access devices.
- Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle to ensure a secure work environment; checks for unsafe conditions.
- Inspects high-risk areas, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons; inspects buildings and grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
- Prepares logs or reports as required for site; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and takes required action as required by Client's Global Security standards.
- Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage and provides direction or information to others.
- Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site and commensurate with their level of training.
- Maintains Basic First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements.
- Issues necessary Hot Work Permits.
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
- Communicates in a manner that is open, honest, and responsive in all situations to the extent authorized.
Qualifications
- Open availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as directed (overtime occurs).
- Ability to work various shifts and holidays as assigned.
- Ability to maintain Basic First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Ability to carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
- Strong communication skills, communicating in a manner that is open, honest, and responsive in all situations to the extent authorized.
Work Environment
Job operates at client sites which could be indoors or outdoors. Position requires prolonged standing and walking in the performance of daily security activities.
