As an Unarmed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor activity, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and shift information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.
Requirements
- Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
