What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a shelter environment.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity to site leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces, helping to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying authorized access when required, and directing residents and visitors according to site procedures.
• Support a respectful environment by assisting with de-escalation, maintaining a visible presence, and communicating professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Licensing Requirements
