Security Officer - Patrol Service Full Time

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location in Ashburn, VA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of school buildings, parking areas, athletic fields, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with directions and maintaining a professional presence.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Pay

$18.87 / hour

Schedule

• Day shift: Monday–Friday, 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
