Security Officer Patrol Access Screening

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location in Newark, NJ, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and committed to integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, access points, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying credentials or delivery documentation as required by site procedures, and directing visitors and drivers appropriately.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Complete accurate reports, logs, and other required documentation related to patrols, incidents, access activity, and security-related observations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$21.26 / hour

• Monday: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Tuesday: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Friday: 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
• Sunday: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
