Security Officer Part Time X Ray Screening

About the role

As a Screener in a government court setting, you will operate screening equipment, monitor access points, and help identify prohibited items while providing professional customer service to visitors, staff, and judicial personnel. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly, and support a secure, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, court personnel, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen persons and belongings entering the courthouse using assigned screening equipment and established entry procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry where required, and communicate access concerns or prohibited-item issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and documenting observations as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned courthouse areas and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
