Security Officer Part Time Weekend Access Specialist

About the role

As a Security Officer Part Time Access Authorization in Myerstown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide exceptional customer service to employees and visitors. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Observe incoming and outgoing vehicle, employee, contractor, and delivery traffic in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112). This experience should include, but is not limited to, roles in security personnel, surveillance, access control, or any related field that demonstrates the ability to manage security protocols effectively.
• Candidates must be comfortable using a computer or tablet (B204). Proficiency in basic software applications, email communication, and digital reporting tools is essential for the role.
