As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors while contributing to a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence areas, parking locations, and surrounding grounds to help identify and report unusual conditions or potential concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and support a welcoming campus environment.
- Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and interactions accurately in accordance with site-specific reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
