About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Patrol Alarm Response Security Officer in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, employees, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate store contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, exits, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter theft, unauthorized access, and policy violations.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and promptly according to Allied Universal and site-specific reporting requirements.

Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
