Security Officer Part Time Site Patrol

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details to supervisors and/or campus contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points, observe campus activity, and communicate with staff and/or visitors regarding site expectations, directions, and security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, unusual events, and policy-related issues, and support allied response efforts during alarms, medical calls, and/or other campus emergencies.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to respond calmly to incidents and emergencies.
• Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Basic computer and tablet usage skills.
