Security Officer Part Time Residential Building

About the role

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part‑Time Security Officer – Badge Administration in Lakewood, NJ. The position involves serving and safeguarding clients in residential communities, providing customer service, and managing access control.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and vendor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident records.
• Control access to the residential community in accordance with established procedures and communicate access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of community grounds, common areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help identify and report security‑related concerns.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, depending on state or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$17.50 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime shifts: Saturday 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM; Sunday 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM.
