About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a professional, welcoming presence. You will communicate clearly with visitors and staff, respond to security-related concerns, and help deter unauthorized access.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and drivers while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points at a government maritime transportation location; verify identification, credentials, appointments, and authorized access for people, vehicles, and deliveries.
  • Control access to restricted areas by issuing visitor passes, maintaining access logs, and reporting access concerns or policy violations to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$14.40 / Hour

Schedule

  • Saturday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
