Security Officer Part Time Patrol Documentation

About the role

As a Part-Time Patrol Security Officer in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in cultural institutions. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and exhibits. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you through our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout public galleries, entrances, exterior areas, offices, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and conditions requiring attention.
• Monitor visitor activity and access points, provide directions and assistance, and help maintain an orderly, welcoming environment.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Schedule

• Friday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Part-time position with flexible scheduling options.
