Security Officer Part Time Patrol - Commercial Building Services

About the Role

Allied Universal® is seeking a Part‑Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in New York, NY to serve and safeguard clients in commercial real‑estate and other industries. The position offers a flexible schedule through the “Claim a Shift” platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and employees at a professional commercial office location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, common spaces, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and assist with access‑control procedures in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activity as required.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, and security‑related concerns, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment per state/local regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$24.05 – $25.05 per hour

Schedule

Daytime shifts:

• Saturday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
• Sunday: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
