About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer at an office building in Bethesda, MD, you’ll have reliable, consistent hours with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Scale your hours up to 40 per week or back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established property protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of public areas, guest corridors, parking areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points, support visitor and vendor entry procedures, and report unauthorized access or policy concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately, and communicate relevant information to management and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Preferred qualifications:

• Access control and badge experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Loss prevention experience.
