Security Officer - Part Time Nights

About the role

As a Part-Time Security Officer Parcel Screener in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Screener in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will use screening equipment to inspect items, monitor access points, and help identify potential security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally with team members and visitors, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and packages entering designated areas in accordance with site procedures and access requirements.
• Monitor access points, identify irregularities, and report suspicious activity or prohibited items to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading zones, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and support orderly operations.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• X-ray screening experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Loss prevention experience.
• Access control and badge experience.

Pay

$17.22 / hour

• Tuesday: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wednesday: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
