As a Security Officer Part Time Building Patrol in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to support daily operations. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and government personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
- Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, policy violations, and unusual activity.
Requirements
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
