Security Officer Part Time

About the role

As a Security Officer Part Time in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution. As an Access Control Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, and communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points for employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors; verify authorization and maintain accurate visitor and vehicle entry records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, business perimeter, and other designated locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report security-related conditions, policy violations, damaged access controls, and unusual activity according to site procedures.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
