Security Officer Part Time Armed Patrol Incident Management

About the role

As a Part-Time Armed Patrol Security Officer in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as aerospace and defense. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Armed Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor access in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports on patrol activities, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
