Security Officer Part Time Armed Access Control

About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As an Armed Access Control Security Officer in Jackson, MS, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Scale your hours up to 40 per week or back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and the public at a government institutional location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and procedures.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify authorized entry, and document visitors, incidents, and daily activities in required reports.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies for armed patrol duties.

Requirements

• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Armed guard card or license is preferred.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

$15.38 / hour

• Thursday: 03:00 PM - 07:00 PM
• Friday: 03:00 PM - 07:00 PM
