Security Officer Part Time Access Coordination

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and maintain a visible presence that helps deter incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for visitors and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and/or public agency personnel while carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and assist with directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Operate access control systems, gates, communications equipment, and other security-related technology in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document and report observations according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of community facilities, entrances, roadways, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized access.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
