Job Description
As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access activities with professionalism and care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, delivering outstanding customer service, and communicating clearly while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and grounded in integrity.

What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to clients, staff, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor logs, deliveries, and/or contractor activity in accordance with site policies and operational requirements.
- Support routine operations by communicating with site personnel, following post orders, and assisting with traffic, entry, and restricted area control as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Licensing Requirements
Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
