Security Officer - Overnight Retail Center Patrol

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location in San Diego, CA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support tenants, visitors, and property staff with exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, common areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and contractor activity in accordance with site policies; assist with access control procedures as assigned.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
