Security Officer - Overnight Full Time

About the role

As a Security Officer Xray Property Examiner in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by monitoring access points, conducting screening activities, and responding to security-related concerns. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and team members by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen personnel, visitors, contractors, and authorized deliveries entering designated areas in accordance with site requirements and access-control procedures.
• Inspect packages, parcels, bags, and other items as required by site policy, documenting and escalating prohibited or suspicious items to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, operational spaces, and the perimeter, reporting observed security-related concerns.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred skills

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Pay and schedule

Position Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
