Security Officer Mixed Shifts Patrol

About the role
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location in Brookings, SD, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, support access control, and help deter security-related incidents. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while using computer or tablet-based tools as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouse spaces, loading docks, parking areas, entrances, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required by site procedures, and document entries, exits, and deliveries.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders according to established protocols.
- Complete accurate reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate security-related observations, hazards, and policy concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site management.
Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Note: This site has limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
