About the role
The Security Officer ensures security and safety with Resort and Casino guests and employees of IMGR&C against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. They also escort internal money transfers, customers, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Explain and demonstrate Hospitality Behaviors and Performance Standards.
- Understand where to get the information needed to complete tasks to standard.
- Explain or demonstrate technical skills used to complete tasks to standard.
- Take ownership of problems and solve them when solutions may not be available.
- Take charge to respond to guest or internal customer needs in absence of guidance.

- Supports achievement of Quality Goals.
- Protects and preserves property of IMGR&C.
- Maintains security over the facility during assigned shifts.
- Escorts customers and employees to ensure their safety.
- Patrols the buildings and grounds.
- Enforces gaming regulations.
- Prepares accident and incident reports.
- Trains and educates guests on security protocols.
- Performs janitorial duties and sets thermostatic controls.
- Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips.
- Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
- Responds to medical emergencies.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at Resort entrance.
- Adheres to all regulatory, departmental, and resort policies and procedures.
- Works closely with other departments and maintains open communication with all employees.
- Stands/walks for a longer period of time while at post or on patrol.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months to one year job-related experience may be substituted.
- Mescalero Apache Tribal preference; bicultural experience preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License.
