Patrol Duties

• Patrols assigned areas
• Performs all security-related tasks
• Maintains life safety standards

Emergency Response

• Investigates suspicious activity or persons
• Reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances
• Acknowledges and responds appropriately to emergency, non-emergency, and alarm calls

First Aid and Fire Alarms

• Administers initial first aid as appropriate
• Responds to fire alarms during actual alarms and drills

Dispute Resolution

• Intercedes in disputes between individuals
• Uses verbal de-escalation techniques
• Diffuses potentially violent situations

Building Access

• Unlocks buildings and doors after checking identification and compliance with hospital policies

Security Monitoring

• Maintains vehicle and pedestrian traffic on hospital properties
• Interviews and investigates individuals involved in suspicious or illegal activities

Incident Documentation

• Investigates and documents safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities
• Reports incidents to the appropriate entities

Knowledge and Skills

• Reads accurately and comprehends

• Safely operates vehicles, equipment, and communication devices
• Computer literacy with basic hospital/security applications and information management systems

• Handcuffing or equivalent national certification
• Pepper Spray or equivalent national certification
• Baton or equivalent national certification
• TASER International – Conducted Electrical Weapon

Education and Experience

• High School Grad or Equiv
• 1+ years related experience
