About the role

The Armed Security Officer at NorthBay Health is responsible for maintaining a secure environment by preventing violent behavior and criminal activity. They are primarily assigned to the Emergency Department and can be extended to other medical facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Identify and resolve security-related problems; serve as a first responder to incidents posing a safety hazard.
  • Notify law enforcement if necessary and report incidents accurately.
  • Prepare detailed reports of incidents.
  • Interview persons with complaints and direct them appropriately.
  • Give advice and information to inquiries from the public.
  • Enter or retrieve data from a computer terminal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a high-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to operate vehicles during employment.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Clean California Concealed Weapons Permit.
  • California Guard Card and Exposed to carry permit.
  • Completion of all state-required firearms qualification training.

Compensation

The posted rate includes: Per Diem Differential 10%, PM Shift Differential $1.38, NOC Shift Differential $2.21, and Weekend Differential $0.75.
