Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with school administration and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and help confirm that visitors, deliveries, and/or contractors follow established entry procedures and location guidelines.
• Support daily campus operations by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and reporting maintenance, lighting, and/or other property concerns observed during patrols.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
