Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Officer to join our team at Gate City Casino in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Schedule

• Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays: 9:15 PM – 1:15 AM
• Evenings, holidays, and weekends

Pay

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper identification is checked for admittance to the gaming floor
• Conduct cash escorts as required
• Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity
• Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary
• Maintain crowd control as required
• Defuse guest profanity and handle issues or complaints professionally
• Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and company assets
• Patrol all areas of the property
• Monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized behavior, and safety hazards
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies, evacuations, and/or medical incidents
• Respond to calls for service, accidents, violations of NH and/or Federal Law, and gaming laws, rules, and regulations in a calm and professional manner
• De-escalate conflicts using verbal and non-verbal techniques
• Complete accurate, detailed incident reports, security logs, and daily activity reports
• Secure evidence when needed and coordinate with local law enforcement
• Administer medical assistance to guests and employees once certified in CPR/First-Aid/AED/BBP

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be licensed by the State Gaming Commission
• Ability to defuse difficult and emotionally charged situations when handling guest issues or complaints
• Must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Prior law enforcement, security, or military experience preferred; hospitality/customer service experience a plus
• Must clear a criminal background check
• Strong verbal communication, observation, and report-writing skills (must be able to document incidents via computer)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate through a two-way radio
• Bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying occasionally
• Vision sufficient to perform duties day or night
• Exposure to an occasionally smoky and loud environment
