Security Officer Full Time Screening Operations

About the role

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer for Full‑Time Screening Operations in Chester, VA. In this position you will serve and safeguard clients across industries such as technology, media, and telecommunications. As a Screener you will maintain a secure environment by monitoring access points, screening visitors and personnel, and reporting security‑related concerns. Your visible presence, clear communication, and customer‑focused approach will help deter incidents while supporting a welcoming experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site‑specific access screening procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and authorized items entering the technology and telecommunications location using established procedures and screening equipment.
• Verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and access permissions before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.

Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 + years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants with criminal histories will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

$19.00 per hour

Schedule

Daytime: Monday 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Saturday 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Sunday 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
