Security Officer Full Time Patrols

About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time Patroling in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting information to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and/or vehicles, following post orders related to access control, badge verification, and visitor processing.
• Support day-to-day operations by communicating with site personnel regarding alarms, gate activity, trailer yard observations, and/or other security-related concerns that may arise during the shift.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to respond calmly to emergencies.
• Knowledge of security procedures and policies.
• Ability to conduct regular patrols and monitor entry/exit activity.
