Security Officer Full Time Patrol Visibility

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Suffolk, VA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while helping maintain a secure, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of technology-focused facilities, office areas, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and escalating matters as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with badge and credential verification, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
