Security Officer - Full Time (Paris LV)

Responsibilities

  • Protects company assets and provides a safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Provides directions and escorts customers in need.
  • Assists civil and law enforcement authorities, including testifying in court and other administrative hearings.
  • Makes chip fills and jackpot verifications.
  • Regularly provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions.
  • Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
  • Patrols all sections of the property to identify safety hazards and breaches in security.
  • Interviews, investigates, and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
  • Makes detailed descriptions of lost and found items and incidents.
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Two years' experience in a position with direct guest contact required.
  • Preferred two years of police, military, or casino security experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in basic computer programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Card, Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), First Aid & CPR certifications.
  • Able to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Well-groomed appearance required.
  • Eight (8) hours of ASP (baton) training required.
  • Able to prepare effective written reports.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.

Additional Requirements

  • Able to work inside and outside, including in extreme temperatures.
  • Able to physically restrain individuals when necessary.
  • Capable of responding calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
  • Able to work independently and handle guest and employee issues.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • Able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Able to remember and provide specific details of incidents and persons.
  • Able to give court testimony and write detailed reports.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Passes the physical and written testing of the Western Division Security Academy within ninety days of employment.
  • Re-certifies every two years through the Western Division Security Academy, passing all physical, mental, and environmental demands.
