About the role

As a Security Officer Customer Service Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, loading docks, trailer areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access as directed, and maintain accurate logs for visitors, contractors, deliveries, and/or vehicle activity.
• Observe and report security-related conditions, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
