About the role

As a Security Officer (Full‑Time Credential Verification) in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as chemical and petrochemical. In the Access Control Officer capacity, you will manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and provide a professional experience for employees and visitors while upholding Allied Universal’s people‑first culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and security‑related policies at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue or collect visitor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Screen and direct incoming visitors, vendors, and vehicles in accordance with site procedures, escalating access discrepancies or unauthorized‑entry concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants with criminal histories will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, depending on state and/or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
