Security Officer Full Time

About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location in Charlotte, NC. Monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and respond to access-related alarms while maintaining a professional, welcoming presence. Conduct routine patrols to help deter incidents and provide clear communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and building staff while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor records in accordance with property policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the commercial property, including common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter, to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and unusual conditions in required reports and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
