Security Officer - Full Time

About the role

As a Security Officer - Full Time in Dekalb, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a food and beverage production location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Maintain access control by monitoring access points and verifying visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials in accordance with site procedures, directing approved personnel to designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as required.
• Support a professional, orderly environment by reporting maintenance concerns, access-control issues, and other security-related observations to site leadership.

Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
