About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors. You will support a secure environment through clear communication, attention to detail, and a visible presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points at a manufacturing and industrial location, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain required access records.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated entrances, exterior areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate clearly with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, access-control issues, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
