Security Officer Field Patrol

About the role

As a Security Officer Field Patrol in Salt Lake City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe foot traffic, and support crowd management during busy shopping periods, special events, and/or closing procedures.
• Aid in handling customer concerns, lost and found matters, and other service-related issues while maintaining awareness of security-related risks and reporting concerns promptly.

Requirements

• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• The ability to use a computer or tablet comfortably is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Must pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses and certifications are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
