Security Officer Ferry Patrol Guard
About the role
Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support visitors with strong customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public access areas, waiting areas, boarding points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted or staff-only areas while following post instructions and reporting concerns through proper channels.
- Support crowd management and orderly movement during arrivals, departures, delays, and/or service changes while providing directions and general assistance to the public.
Requirements
- A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
